My Interview With Adam Pally

He's responsible for the single greatest episode of The Late Late Show. He's an ace improv artist. And yet he swears his wife is funnier than he is -- as are most people he works with. Ladies and gentlemen, I spent a little time talking to Adam Pally.

Aphex Twin - "Avril 14th"

Everybody have a chill Fourth.

Is 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' Great or Goofy?

With Dial of Destiny arriving on Friday, I spent a little time thinking about the 1989 film that people thought was going to be the final Indiana Jones movie. It was more of a buddy comedy than the previous two films, and it featured Sean Connery. So how does it hold up? My answer is here.

Wyclef Jean (featuring John Forte and Pras) - "We Trying to Stay Alive"

A little late for World Refugee Day. But much love to Wyclef.

My Interview With Hari Kondabolu

A few years ago, comedian Hari Kondabolu made The Problem With Apu, a documentary that expressed his issues with the inherent racism of The Simpsons' depiction of convince-store owner Apu. He has a new stand-up special, Vacation Baby, out now, so we talked about that, the documentary, the fallout, and fatherhood. It was a blast. Read all about it over at Cracked.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'The Flash,' 'Elemental' and 'Asteroid City'

This past weekend was heavy with interesting new releases, both big and small. You can hear our takes on the latest DC spinoff, Pixar's misfire and the new Wes Anderson picture down below.

My Interview With Lizzy Caplan and Claire Danes, the Stars of 'Fleishman Is in Trouble'

I loved Fleishman Is in Trouble, but I noticed that Lizzy Caplan and Claire Danes hadn't done any interviews together to talk about the show. I rectified that for the Los Angeles Times: Hope you enjoy our chat.

'No Hard Feelings' Review

Jennifer Lawrence in a raucous R-rated comedy? Here's my review of No Hard Feelings.

What "You've Got a Friend in Me" Means to Pixar

An up-and-coming animation company asked Randy Newman to write some music for its first feature film. The rest is history. For Cracked, I wrote about the legacy of his Toy Story songs.

My Interview With Kristen Schaal

She's the best. We talked about Bob's Burgers, being a rule-follower, working blue, missing your 20s, Wheel of Fortune, and not turning your kid in a punchline. Our conversation is live over at Cracked.

Van Halen - "Runaround"

Look, I know this song is dumb. And yet.

My Interview With Aubrey Plaza, Star of 'The White Lotus'

I have interviewed Aubrey Plaza twice in the last six months for the Los Angeles Times. Back in December, I talked to her (and Theo Rossi) about Emily the Criminal. Now, she and I chat about The White Lotus. I was especially touched by her discussing being lonely as a permanent state. Hope you enjoy.

'The Blackening' Review

This horror satire is based on a clever short film that makes fun of the convention in horror movies where the Black character always dies first. Does expanding the concept to feature length cause some problems? My review is up at Screen International.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: The New 'Transformers,' the 'Miami Vice' Movie and 'Tremors'

On this week's episode, we only reviewed one new film: Tranformers: Rise of the Beasts. Then, we did two Reboots: Michael Mann's big-screen take on Miami Vice and the 1990 horror-comedy Tremors. Those were far more rewarding than the robots. Check out the show below.

My Interview With the Teen Cast of 'Yellowjackets'

This was a treat. I spoke to the cast who plays the survivors of the plane crash in Yellowjackets back in the 1990s: Sophie Nelisse, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Liv Hewson and Courtney Eaton. We had a lively conversation about nightmares, insecurity and playlists. Hope you enjoy

My Interview With Gina Yashere

Chuck Lorre had an idea for a sitcom in which a white man falls in love with his Nigerian nurse. But he needed to find a Nigerian comic to help him write it. Enter Gina Yashere, a successful stand-up from London who'd moved to America. I talked to Yashere about Bob Hearts Abishola and a lot more over at Cracked.

My Interview With Will Sharpe, Star of 'The White Lotus'

Will Sharpe is one-half of my favorite couple on the second season of The White Lotus. I talked to him for the Los Angeles Times.

What Went Wrong With 'The Internship'?

Ten years ago, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, the stars of Wedding Crashers, reunited for another comedy. But The Internship failed. I examined why over at Cracked.

When Ray Parker Jr. Wrote "Ghostbusters"

Almost exactly 39 years ago, the R&B artist released the theme song to one of that summer's biggest blockbusters. For Cracked, I looked back at the history and legacy of "Ghostbusters."

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Across the Spider-Verse,' 'Past Lives' and 'Lynch/Oz'

Will was in town, so we did the podcast in person. You can hear us review two pretty terrific movies, and also a very fun documentary. Check it out below.

Glen Campbell - "Wichita Lineman"

It's been a busy stretch. I like being busy, but I am looking forward to kicking back a little.

'The Flash' Review

I didn't know if we'd ever see The Flash. Now I have. My review is over at Screen International.

'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' Review

Michael Bay didn't direct this one, at least. For Screen International, I reviewed the seventh installment in the Transformers franchise, Rise of the Beasts.

Telling Melissa McCarthy's Story in Only Five Movies

If you only had five films to encapsulate The Little Mermaid star Melissa McCarthy's career, which would you choose? Here are the ones I picked.

Tom Hanks Hates 'The Bonfire of the Vanities'

Recently, Tom Hanks gave an interview where he discussed his disdain for people who actively hate particular movies. That said, he admitted that he hates some of his own movies. He wouldn't say which ones, but I know for a fact he's not a fan of The Bonfire of the Vanities. I went into that historic debacle here.

I Miss the Jason Sudeikis of "Two A-Holes"

This may have been the last season of Ted Lasso. I only saw the first season, which I didn't love, but I have a suggestion for what he should do next. My tribute to his underrated Saturday Night Live recurring character is over at Cracked.

Vladimir Spivakov & Sergej Bezrodny - "Spiegel im Spiegel"

I haven't watched Gerry in a while. I forgot how beautiful the opening is with the use of Arvo Pärt's music.

My Interview With the Cast and Crew Behind the 'Last of Us' Episode "Long, Long Time"

People loved The Last of Us, but they especially loved "Long, Long Time," which took a break from the main plot to focus on the love story between survivors Bill and Frank. For the Los Angeles Times, I spoke to actors Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett, director Peter Hoar and writer Craig Mazin to learn how the episode came together. Hope you enjoy.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: My Cannes Recap, 'The Little Mermaid' and 'You Hurt My Feelings'

I'm back from France, and so we fired up the ol' podcast to talk about my highlights from this year's Cannes. Then, we review the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and You Hurt My Feelings. Finally, I ask Will some questions about Fast X since I didn't see it. Check out the whole thing down below.
