The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Primetime,' Mahershala Ali and 'Heart of the Beast'

On this week's episode, we disagree on two movies: Primetime and Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother. Then, Will asks me about Brad Pitt's new survival thriller, Heart of the Beast. We also make some predictions about the MLB playoffs. Hear it all down below.

Remember When Everybody Thought Keanu Reeves Was a Bad Actor?

Not that long ago, that was the prevailing thought: This Ted guy is kind of a lightweight. But, somewhere along the way, the world came to appreciate Keanu Reeves. How did it happen? I did a little digging for MEL.

Going Back in Time With 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure'

It has been 32 years since the first film came out. Its abiding lesson: "Be excellent to each other." My appreciation is up at SyFy.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: The Week We Went Back to the Movie Theater

Will and I both ended up seeing The New Mutants on the big screen, but in very different ways. We talked about that on this past week's episode. We also reviewed Bill & Ted Face the Music and The Personal History of David Copperfield. Then I spoke briefly about Get Duked! and Class Action Park. The episode is down below.

Bill & Ted and Rock 'n' Roll

Bill and Ted are all grown up in Bill & Ted Face the Music, but their musical taste hasn't changed. I wrote about that for MEL.

'Press Play With Madeleine Brand': Dickens, the Scottish Highlands, Amusement Parks and 'Bill & Ted'

Happy to be back on KCRW, alongside Roth Cornet, to review four new movies:

The Personal History of David Copperfield
Get Duked!
Class Action Park
Bill & Ted Face the Music

You can hear our segment below.

'Bill & Ted Face the Music' Review

Sorry, everybody: I didn't dig the new Bill & Ted movie.

My Interview With Alex Winter, Director of 'Showbiz Kids'

You probably know him from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. But Alex Winter has become a documentary filmmaker over the last 10 years, focusing on political and social issues. His latest is Showbiz Kids, about former child stars, which is something he knows a little about since he used to be one. For MEL, I had a long conversation with Winter about documentaries, parenting during quarantine, sexual abuse, and why he still loves playing Bill. Our interview is here.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: Blade Runners, Mountains and 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure'

On this week's podcast, Will and I have several new movies to discuss. We rap about Blade Runner 2049 and The Mountain Between Us, and then I go solo for The Florida Project. Finally, in our Reboot segment, we take a look back at Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, which is sweeter and sunnier than you might remember. You can listen to the whole thing here.
