My Interview With Lynne Littman and Jane Alexander, the Team Behind 'Testament'

You may remember that, a couple years ago, I wrote a piece about some of the major nuclear-war films of the early 1980s. One of those was Testament, which has meant a lot to me since seeing it as a child.

Well, that film is now part of the Criterion Collection, a development that thrilled me. To celebrate, I interviewed director Lynne Littman and star Jane Alexander over Zoom, hearing their stories about the film's making. We discussed motherhood, death, bad dreams, Oscar season, and why we're still living on the edge of destruction. You can read my piece over at Film Comment.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: How Bad Is 'Bad Boys: Ride or Die'?

In this week's episode, we review the latest installment in the Bad Boys saga. We also discuss Hit Man and go back to 1959's Anatomy of a Fall. (I also talk a little about moderating a Q&A with Lynne Littman for her film Testament. That was a special night.) Hear the whole thing down below.

My Interview With the Directors of 'Testament,' 'The Day After' and 'Threads'

Within the span of 10 months in 1983 and 1984, three films came out that imagined what would happen if a nuclear war broke out. For the Los Angeles Times, I spoke with Lynne Littman (Testament), Nicholas Meyer (The Day After) and Mick Jackson (Threads) to discuss the impact their movies had -- and whether they feel any better about our future now than they did then. Very proud of this piece, and I hope you enjoy.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Kimi,' 'Death on the Nile' and 'Testament'

This week was an in-person episode. (Will was in Los Angeles for the Super Bowl.) So we enjoyed recording face-to-face, with both of us tackling Kimi. Then, Will asked me about Death on the Nile and Marry Me. Finally, in our Reboot segment, we talked about Testament, a film that impacted us as teenagers. Does it hold up? You can hear the whole thing down below.
