Eagles of the Republic concludes filmmaker Tarik Saleh's Cairo trilogy, three movies that (in their own ways) examine the corruption and tyranny of the Egyptian government. This final installment is the funniest, looking at a fading movie star recruited by the regime to make a propaganda film. But it eventually becomes a despairing thriller.
