I saw The Taste of Things at its first press screening in Cannes, quite taken by its portrait of love and art. For the Los Angeles Times, I spoke with writer-director Tran Anh Hung and star Juliette Binoche (as well as co-star Benoit Magimel and Tran Nu Yen Khe, who is Hung's wife and creative partner) about what's going on beneath the gorgeousness of the culinary world the film depicts.
