Let's Rank 'Jurassic Park' Movies
There have been six Jurassic Park films. Which one is the best? And which is the worst? (That first question is easier to answer.) Our rankings are over at Vulture.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: Dinosaurs, Adam Sandler and 'M'
In this week's episode, we agree that Jurassic World Dominion isn't good, but just how bad is it? Then, we differ on Hustle. Finally, in our Reboot segment, we go back to 1931, looking at Fritz Lang's M. Lots of good stuff, and you can hear it all down below.

Why Are the Characters in Legacy Sequels (Almost) Always Less Interesting Than the Original Characters?
Jurassic World Dominion underscored a problem I've noticed for a while, which is that when sequels try to combine the original cast and the new cast, the new cast often looks pretty feeble by comparison. Is that because of nostalgia or something else? Here's my latest for MEL.

'Jurassic World Dominion' Review
Good news: I actually think Jurassic World Dominion is the best of the recent trilogy. Bad news: It's still not all that good. My review is up at Screen International.

Horror Movies About Science Going Wrong
OK, so, this week, I Am Legend was in the news because of a New York Times piece in which someone who doesn't want to get vaccinated cited the Will Smith movie as her reason for not doing so. (She mistakenly believed that everybody gets turned into zombies in the film because of a vaccine that goes wrong.) This got me thinking about Hollywood's history of horror movies in which a scientific discovery leads to disaster. It's rich subject matter, which you'll see in my MEL piece.

Is 'Jurassic Park' the Most Important Movie of the Last 30 Years?
The Steven Spielberg film came out this week in 1993. Over at SyFy, I argue that its impact on Hollywood is still felt, for better or worse. Read on.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Let Him Go,' 'Proxima' and 'The Fly'
I raved and raved and raved about the 1986 remake of The Fly on this week's episode. I also had nice things to say about Let Him Go (pity about the ending) and Proxima. And, yes, we talked about the election, too. Hope you enjoy.
