The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Evil Dead Burn,' 'The Invite' and 'Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass'

On this week's episode, it's the calm before the storm that is The Odyssey. We review one studio movie and check out two specialty offerings. The film I liked the most of the bunch might not be the one you're expecting. Hear our thoughts and lively banter down below.

'The Last Thing I Saw': Reviewing 'The Invite,' 'The Weight' and 'The Friend's House Is Here'

While at Sundance, I was back on Nicolas Rapold's superb podcast The Last Thing I Saw talking about festival films. Nic and I discussed The Invite, while I raved about The Weight and The Friend's House Is Here. And Nic put in a good word for the documentary All About the Money, which I have yet to see. You can hear our conversation down below.

The Film Comment Podcast: 'The Gallerist,' 'I Want Your Sex' and 'The Invite'

I was very happy to be back on Film Comment's podcast, where I joined host Devika Girish and my pals Monica Castillo and Robert Daniels here in Park City. We eviscerated one film and debated another, and I then went solo on The Invite. Check out our lively conversation down below.

Sundance 2026: 'The Invite' Review

In The Invite, Olivia Wilde and Seth Rogen play an unhappy, sexless married couple. Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton play the couple who live upstairs. (They have a lot of sex.) What happens when they all hang out together one night? I reviewed this relationship film for Screen International.

'Breakfast All Day': 'A Complete Unknown' Doesn't 'Walk Hard' Bob Dylan's Story

Very happy to be back with my buddy Christy Lemire to go deep on A Complete Unknown. One thing I definitely wanted to get into here: I love Walk Hard, but I'm tired of it being used as a de-facto way to critique every music biopic released in its wake. Check out our conversation below.

'Fight Club' Jokes Still Pack a Punch

The new comedy Bottoms riffs on Fight Club, telling the story of a female fight club at a high school. Nearly 25 years after that David Fincher film came out, it's still used as a go-to joke in movies and TV shows. Why is that? I offered some thoughts here.

Picking the Best Performance From Each of Wes Anderson's Frequent Actors

Now that Asteroid City is on Peacock, I decided to do a fun rundown of Wes Anderson's stable of regular performers, selecting each actor's best performance from his movies. Let the debate begin.

We're deep into awards season, and this week's episode features three movies hoping for Oscar attention. Our thoughts on The Fabelmans, the Knives Out sequel and the latest from Luca Guadagnino can be heard down below.

'Fight Club' and Male Bonding

I saw Fight Club on opening night October 15, 1999. Today, I look back at a movie that still packs a punch. My piece is up at SyFy.

What's the Worst MCU Film?

I'm sure this won't spark any debate at all: Our Top/Bottom 5 are over at SyFy.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'The Irishman,' 'The King' and 'Motherless Brooklyn'

Sure, we review Terminator: Dark Fate on this week's podcast, but it's actually more interesting to dig into The King and Motherless Brooklyn. But the majority of the show is given over to The Irishman, for obvious reasons. Hear the whole thing down below.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: Looking Back at '25th Hour' and 'Galaxy Quest'

I'm at Sundance. Will is home. So for this week's episode, I asked him a little about Serenity. Then we did two Reboot films: 25th Hour and Galaxy Quest. Hope you enjoy.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Tully,' Summer Movie Season and 'American History X'

A little earlier than normal, here's this week's episode. We discuss Tully. We preview some summer movies that most intrigue us. And we look back at American History X, which I loathed. (If anything, Will hates it even more than I do.) You can hear the entire episode down below.

Misleading Men: Edward Norton

Edward Norton is one of the stars of Collateral Beauty, which nobody saw, including me. But it did provide me an opportunity to write about Norton, The Incredible Hulk and the misconceptions around the idea of the "difficult" actor. The Oscar-nominated thespian is the subject of my latest installment of "Misleading Men" over at MEL.
