Much to my delight, I really enjoyed
You Don't Nomi, which studies the reclamation of
Showgirls, one of the most mocked and reviled movies of the 1990s. (I saw it opening night: Oh, how my friends and I laughed.) This is a thoughtful, smartly-argued piece of cultural criticism, which left me with a lot to ponder. My review is up at
MEL.
