The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Trap,' 'War Game' and 'Cutter's Way'
On this week's episode, we dig into two very different new movies: M. Night Shyamalan's latest and a documentary about the possibilities of another insurrection after this year's presidential election. Then, in our Reboot segment, we look back at 1981's superb Cutter's Way. Check it all out down below.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Renfield,' 'De Humani Corporis Fabrica' and 'Something Wild'
One bad new movie and one good new movie are featured on this week's podcast. We both raved about De Humani Corporis Fabrica, and then in our Reboot segment we rhapsodized about Something Wild. Sure made up for suffering though Renfield. Hear the whole thing down below.

Me and the Dude
This summer, the MEL staff will be doing a series of Scorching Hot Takes, writing about indefensible positions we sincerely hold about culture, politics, whatever. So, I decided to wrestle with the fact that I've never loved The Big Lebowski, a movie I saw opening night. I've seen it twice in the last couple years to give it another shot, and still nothing. My piece is here.

The Grierson & Leitch Podcast: 'Tucker: The Man and His Dream,' 'Passion Fish' and Looking Back at 2005
On this week's episode, we have two Reboots: Francis Ford Coppola's Tucker: The Man and His Dream and John Sayles' Passion Fish. Here are two films from distinctive auteurs that would be pretty hard to get made in modern times. (And I don't mean because of the pandemic.) But the show kicks off with our deep dive into movie year 2005. Crash, Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Munich ... and my pick for the year's actual best film. Check it out below.
