Operators - "True"

I'm that one weirdo who prefers all of Dan Boeckner's other bands to his main group, Wolf Parade, who are now on "indefinite hiatus." I loved Handsome Furs, I love Divine Fits, and I'm digging the first cut from his new group, Operators. For me, it's the anxiety in the keyboards and the bite in his voice that always move me.

Divine Fits - "Baby Get Worse"

Divine Fits are a new indie supergroup that includes Spoon's Britt Daniel. But I'm really happy to hear Dan Boeckner as part of this band, especially on the stellar "Baby Get Worse," which has the same pristine '80s/New Wave aesthetic as his great, much-missed Handsome Furs. And I love how Daniel shows up near the end.

Handsome Furs - "Handsome Furs Hate This City"

I was really sad to hear that Handsome Furs were calling it quits. These matters become infinitely more complicated when your band's principal members, Dan Boeckner and Alexei Perry, are married. Hopefully they're doing OK. In the meantime, here's "Handsome Furs Hate This City" from their 2007 debut, Plague Park.

Face Control is the second album from the indie-rock duo Handsome Furs. As the press notes tell us, they went to Eastern Europe, took notes of what they saw, and made this album. Sounds like it was a harrowing trip.
