'Candyman' and the Exploitation of Black Artists

As a white man, I found the new Candyman especially cutting in its depiction of how white society exploits Black artists. In fact, the film is almost a companion piece to Ma Rainey's Black Bottom in that way. I wrote about this over at MEL.
