The thing I like most about The Fits, the feature debut of writer-director Anna Rose Holmer, is that it won't sit still in any one genre. Is it a coming-of-age drama? A dance film? A psychological horror movie? A little bit of all three, but done in a stripped-down, realist style that's make it all feel very naturalistic.
