Director Hany Abu-Assad has made a film about Mohammad Assaf, a Palestinian who won Arab Idol in 2013. It was a huge story in the Middle East, and now the filmmaker behind Omar and Paradise Now has brought it to the big screen. It's a feel-good tale with actual grit and sadness underneath.
