We forget this now, but for a period in the mid-'90s, people really had high hopes for Matthew McConaughey -- or maybe it was just me. He was great in Lone Star and Dazed and Confused, but unfortunately he then lost his way with a series of dull romantic comedies. In the last few years, though, he's started to transition into more interesting roles, like his great performance as Dallas in Magic Mike.
